Few people walk past a casino without at least peeking inside. And even fewer visit Las Vegas without trying the slot machines. There’s something irresistible about stepping into a casino—the sound, the lights, the illusion of instant fortune. And don’t feel guilty if you’ve ever lost a small bet or regretted not wagering more on your favourite team’s win. Because you're far from alone.

In fact, many celebrities are deeply connected to the gambling world, both through sports betting and high-stakes casino games. Today, we take a look at just a few stars who lead this surprising double life.

Gerard Piqué – Poker Over Paradise

Former FC Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué is more than just a football icon—he’s a dedicated poker player. Even during the summer when most athletes are relaxing, Piqué can often be found seated at a table in Las Vegas. He has twice participated in the prestigious World Series of Poker at the Rio Hotel in Vegas.

Although his most recent attempt ended early in the second round, his presence was far from unnoticed. He paid a hefty €7,300 entry fee and, on occasion, has worn hats or sunglasses to avoid being recognized—though many already label him a poker addict.

Ashton Kutcher – Betting Beyond Comedy

Known for his comedic roles on screen, Ashton Kutcher has also made waves in the world of sports betting. In the early 2000s, he started betting on college football and reportedly earned $750,000. He then followed that win with another $800,000 from NCAA bets, proving it wasn't just beginner’s luck.

Kutcher has spoken openly about using his intelligence and analytical thinking to beat the bookies—a different kind of role, but clearly one that suits him.

50 Cent – Hip-Hop and High Stakes

In 2008, rapper 50 Cent made headlines when he placed a high-profile bet on his beloved New York Giants to win Super Bowl XLII against the New England Patriots. His faith was rewarded with a thrilling $500,000 win as the Giants pulled off a narrow 17-14 victory.

Then in 2015, he went even bigger, betting a massive $1.6 million on Floyd Mayweather to beat Manny Pacquiao. The undefeated boxer delivered, and 50 Cent's confidence—and bank account—was validated once again.

Ben Affleck – Hollywood's Blackjack Maverick

Actor and director Ben Affleck is well known for his love of casino games, especially poker and blackjack. At one point, he famously wagered $60,000 on a single blackjack hand while intoxicated—and ended up taking home $800,000.

In a move that shows both generosity and perhaps guilt, he tipped $150,000 to the casino staff. But his most controversial moment came when he was banned from a Las Vegas casino for counting cards—a tactic he later admitted to. No bluff there.

Tiger Woods – More Than Just a Golfer

Beyond his legendary golfing achievements, Tiger Woods has also made headlines for his off-course activities—including gambling.

According to one of his former partners, Woods would often bet $25,000 per hand at blackjack tables. He was such a valued guest at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas that they gave him a $1 million betting limit. Tiger also reportedly requested his table be surrounded by attractive women for luck—a request the casino was more than happy to grant.

Neymar – Football Star, Poker Face

Brazilian forward Neymar Jr., now playing for Al Hilal after stints at Barcelona and PSG, is a familiar face in the poker world. He's competed in major tournaments such as the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP), where he finished 6th out of 288 players, winning $79,440.

Neymar has openly embraced his gambling persona, even becoming an ambassador for a global betting company. And now, during his injury recovery, he seems to be spending more time at poker tables than treatment tables.
